Situated at Geylang East, the Hindu temple Sri Sivan Temple is dedicated to the worship of the Sivalinga. It features a unique design of octagonal structure with a multi-purpose hall and staff quarters.

Although the worship of Sivalinga existed since the early 1850's and was relocated several times throughout Singapore, the imposing place of worship that can be seen today and which spreads on a 3,000 square meter plot, was built at a cost of S$6 million and consecrated in 1993. 

The major Hindu festivals celebrated at Sri Sivan Temple are: Maha Sivarathiri; Vasantha Navarathiri; Guru Peryarchi; Navarathiri; Skantha Shasti.
