シヴァリンガの崇拝は1850年代初頭から存在し、シンガポール中を何度も移転してきましたが、今日見ることができる堂々たる礼拝の場は、約3,000平方メートルの敷地に建てられ、6百万シンガポールドルの費用をかけて1993年に奉献されました。
スリシヴァン寺院で祝われる主なヒンドゥー教の祭りは、マハ・シヴァラトリ、ヴァサンタ・ナバラトリ、グル・ペリアルチ、ナバラトリ、スカンタ・シャスティです。
