Armenian Apostolic Church
Singapore
Due to increasing business prospects in Southeast Asia in the early 1830s, the community of Armenian families grew and initiated the construction of Singapore's first Christian church.
The inside is based on traditional Armenian Church architecture with a vaulted ceiling and cupola and a painting above the altar showing Christ and his Apostles at the Last Supper.
Don't miss the tranquil tropical garden, holding tombs of Armenians. Outside, a tall spire tops the building and balustrades on both sides lead to the white entry.
The glistering white church is a popular sight, a beautiful place of worship and well worth a visit if you are in the area. Located in the Civic District, there are quite a few other attractions nearby such as the Peranakan Museum, the National Museum and Fort Canning Park.
