At the gates of Orchard Road's famous shopping belt and just opposite Newton MRT station, stands one of Singapore's most iconic hawker centres.
Newton Food Centre is well appreciated for its alfresco and shady atmosphere and its great variety of local dishes, especially its fresh seafood. Try the Sambal Stingray, Chilli Prawns amd Chilli Crabs with buns. These dishes and all the other delicious local street food of Singapore will fill you up to your greatest enjoyment.
First thing to do before ordering any food, is to reserve a table and remember its number. Then make your choice at any of the stalls and notify your table's number to the vendor. He will then bring the food and the bill at your table.
Newton Food centre has some great food but, it is usually more expensive than the one found at a regular Hawker centre.
