Old Airport Road Food Centre

As its name suggests, the centre is located on the Old Airport Road in the Eastern part of the island, and certainly not a place that attracts many tourists. You probably won't find a mention of this hawker centre in a tourist guide yet both locals and long-time residents recommend the Old Airport Road Food Centre as one of the best or, in fact, the best Hawker Centre in Singapore. This is evident during lunch times, when the parking slots start filling up well before noon and soon enough there are long queues in front of the most popular stalls.
Despite its renovation in 2007, there is still much of the old charm to be found there with stalls set up back-to-back in three rows. Compared to the centrally located hawkers such as Lau Pa Sat the Old Airport Road Food Centre is also known as one of the cheapest hawkers with delicious dishes such as fishball noodle soup and rojak for around S$3-5.
