Golden Mile Food Centre or Beach Road Army Market as the locals say, is located on the Kampong Glam side of Beach Road. The particularity of this place is to host over 110 shops, where local national servicemen, reservists and occasional trekkers get supplies of cheap army gears and camping equipments. Uniforms, caps, army boots and army ranks, insignia sewing shops and also tents, camping bags and sleeping bags fill up the 3rd and 4th floors of the building.
Golden Mile Food Centre is also full of noteworthy stalls to choose. This inculdes 91 Fried Kway Teow stall for Char Kway Teow (#01-91, closed on Mondays), Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee for the dish of the same name (B1-34, closed on Wednesdays) and the salivating Hainanese Curry Chicken Rice or Noodles (B1-53).
