East Coast Park, with a total of 185 hectares along a 15-km coastal stretch is one of the most popular and scenic parks in Singapore. Locals love their beach hideaway and gather there on weekends with their families and friends.
Sit under swaying coconut palms, gaze out to the sea and enjoy the light breeze that lets you forget the heat and humidity of the city. The many BBQ pits along some beach stretches can be booked through the National Parks website but make sure to book well in advance as they are very popular. As an alternative one can always do a picnic instead with an abundant choice of beautiful trees offering shade and a relaxing atmosphere.
With an array of activities to choose from, there is no time to be bored. Rent a bike, play volleyball, build a sand castle, feast on local delights or be hip at the Xtreme SkatePark.
