Changi Museum

Singapore

The site, located near Changi Airport, offers quite large grounds including a parking, a chapel, a restaurant/bar and the museum with its shop.

The rather small museum impresses with a huge collection of notebooks, postcards, drawings and photographs that prisoners kept. Even though the site of the museum is not the original prision, it tells the stories of thousands of war prisoners, mostly from Britan and Australia, during the Japanese Occupation of WWII.

The museum also features maps, storyboard displays, tools and artefacts donated from organizations, prisoneers and their families and is the only place in Singapore that will give you a very good glimpse what life was during the war. Certainly a great place for all those interested in the history of Singapore
