中国の最初のギャラリーの1つであり、アートバーゼルやパリのFIACなどの国際アートフェアに参加しているShanghART Galleryは、中国の現代アートの発展において重要なプレーヤーの一人と見なされています。“International Art Galleries: Post-war to Post-millennium”というThames＆Hudsonの出版物で、最も影響力のあるギャラリーの1つに名前が挙げられました。1996年に設立され、ギャラリーディレクターのLorenz Helblingが率い、Ding Yi、Chen Xiaoyun、Sun Xun、Yu Youhan、Yang Fudong、Zeng Fanzhi、Li Shan、Zhang Enliなど、40以上のアーティストを代表しています。
ShanghART Galleryの最初の海外ギャラリーであるShanghART Singaporeは、2012年に都市の活気ある芸術ゾーンであるGillman Barracksの近くに開設されました。
