Description
Dive into Singapore’s rich history and vibrant culture on an award-winning walking tour that takes you from the city’s colonial past to its awe-inspiring modern transformation. Led by an expert local guide, this immersive 4.5 hour journey begins in the Civic District, where you’ll explore iconic colonial landmarks and hear stories of the pioneers who shaped Singapore.
Next, enjoy a scenic 30-minute bumboat cruise down the Singapore River, transitioning from history to modern marvels as you arrive at Merlion Park to take in breathtaking views of Marina Bay and learn about its incredible construction.
Next, travel to a local residential Housing Development Board (HDB) rooftop for a stunning bird’s-eye view of Singapore’s skyline. Learn about the transformative vision of Lee Kuan Yew and how Singapore rose from a third-world nation to a first-world powerhouse in one generation.
The journey continues in Chinatown at the famous Maxwell Hawker Centre or another beloved food hub. Here, you’ll enjoy Singapore’s most iconic dish, Chicken Rice, paired with freshly squeezed Sugar Cane juice. Your guide will share hawker etiquette and point out must-try dishes, ensuring you’re ready to “eat like a local” during your stay.
Cap off the evening with a tranquil visit to a traditional tea house, where you’ll experience the elegance of a tea ceremony and sample the Imperial tea once served to Queen Elizabeth II.
