Step into a world of botanical splendor with a guided tour of Gardens by the Bay, Singapore’s iconic horticultural masterpiece. Prepare to be awestruck by the towering Supertrees, marvel at the diverse flora within the cooled conservatories, and discover the secrets of the plant kingdom in a journey that’s both educational and exhilarating. Begin your tour at the Supertree Grove. These sci-fi trees are like something out of the movie Avatar. There are eighteen Supertrees in Gardens by the Bay in total, where twelve of them are put together making a cluster of trees called the Supertree Grove. The trees are of different heights ranging from 25 to 50 meters tall. Packed with sustainability features, some have photovoltaic cells on their canopies to harvest solar energy for lighting up the Supertrees, while others are integrated with the Conservatories and serve as air exhaust receptacles. These trees light up at night as part of the Garden Rhapsody night show (daily at 7:45 PM), where you will be entertained by the music and lights. Then, visit the Flower Dome. The giant glass “egg” of Gardens by the Bay, the Flower Dome is divided into seven different gardens each with its theme. Be captivated by a kaleidoscope of colors as you wander through ever-changing floral displays, from delicate tulips and vibrant orchids to seasonal exhibitions that showcase the world’s finest blooms. Next, head to the Cloud Forest. Embark on a misty adventure through the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, witness exotic orchids and carnivorous plants thrive in a cool, temperate climate, and cross a thrilling suspension bridge amidst the lush foliage. Your knowledgeable guide will point out hidden gems within the conservatories, like rare plant species, unique horticultural techniques, and fascinating sustainability insights.
